HSE Lead – Chemical/Pharma Industry – Switzerland
We are looking for an experienced HSE Lead to drive safety culture and regulatory compliance within a dynamic chemical/pharmaceutical environment.
This is a hands-on role that combines operational leadership, compliance management, and risk assessment to support production, R&D, and engineering teams.

We are looking for an experienced HSE Lead to drive safety culture and regulatory compliance within a dynamic chemical/pharmaceutical environment.
This is a hands-on role that combines operational leadership, compliance management, and risk assessment to support production, R&D, and engineering teams.
Your Responsibilities
- Operational Leadership: Engage with all departments to assess critical risks, develop safe operating protocols, and provide technical support for operational and research facilities. Design and implement HSE strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Cultural Change & Training: Foster a strong safety culture by integrating HSE principles into production, engineering, and laboratory activities. Organize and lead OHS training programs for employees and management.
- Project Management: Oversee HSE aspects of various projects, ensuring effective risk mitigation.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure adherence to Swiss and European safety regulations (e.g., REACH, SEVESO, Dangerous Goods Regulations, Machinery Directive) and act as the primary point of contact with regulatory bodies.
- Risk Assessment & Safety Processes: Lead HAZOPs, PHRs, LOPA assessments, and incident investigations to identify and mitigate safety risks.
- HSE Performance & Reporting: Develop and track key HSE KPIs while implementing global process safety standards.
- Educational Background: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering (or related field).
- Industry Experience: Minimum 5+ years of experience in process safety, HSE, or related roles in an industrial setting, ideally within the chemical or pharmaceutical sector.
- Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of industry safety standards (e.g., ASME, API). Professional certifications such as ASGS Specialist, CSP, or OHST are a plus.
- Soft Skills: Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain complex safety concepts and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Language Requirements: Fluent in English; proficiency in French is an advantage.
- Work Authorization: Candidates must hold a Swiss work permit or be eligible to work in Switzerland.
